Annual Conference and AGM, 2007 

“Who’s in charge of public statistics?” 

Friends Meeting House, Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ

Saturday 24 February 2007 

First session begins promptly at 10.15. Conference finishes around 5.30.

Registration, coffee & informal discussion from 9.30am.

Conference Programme

Conference sessions will cover:

  • The independence of official statistics and current resource issues
  • Health (independent sector treatment centres)
  • Demography (migrant workers)
  • Aid (performance indicators in developing countries)
  • Public relations and the misuse of surveys
  • Participation in voting
  • Access issues in pharmaceutical statistics.

  •   The conference will pull together the lessons from these sessions, and consider the implications for the governance of UK public statistics. 

Join us for the following Social Events:

  • Friday night pub gathering from 7 pm at The Lamb, Lamb Conduit Street.
  • Saturday evening meal at 7 pm at Ciao Bella restaurant, Lamb Conduit Street.
  • Sunday at 10.15 am (subject to demand) a visit to the Florence Nightingale Museum
    at St Thomas' Hospital, and/or river side walk.
    The Museum may show us some items of statistical interest not normally on display. 
    (Book in advance, and we may secure a group discount.)
