Radical Statistics Conference

Using data to promote progressive social change

This is to remind you that Radical Statistics is holding its annual conference on
Saturday 14 th March 2026 at St Luke’s Community Centre, South Islington EC1V
9AJ.
The conference includes
– A debate on the benefits and drawbacks of Artificial Intelligence
– An sceptical assessment of the claim that more street lighting makes for safer
streets
– A critical examination of the extent to which publishers of academic journals
adhere to standards of research integrity in terms of openness of data and
methodological rigour
– A demonstration that a change in the method of counting strikes and industrial
stoppages has inflated the count of the number of these events

The conference begins at 9:30am and closes at 16:45.
A few members of Radical Statistics will be meeting at 6pm in the Lamb pub on
Lamb’s Conduit Street in Bloomsbury. . After the conference there will be a dinner
at the Com Pho Vietnamese restaurant near St Luke’s. Everyone with an interest in
statistics is welcome to attend these social events.
